Who Was Zachery Potts?

Zachery Potts, who was 27 years old at the time of the tragic accident, served as the district director for the US House of Representatives. He perished in the disaster along with other people.

Potts began serving as the Indiana Republican Party’s Victory Team Captain in 2014, according to his Linkedin page. He oversaw neighborhood-level initiatives to gather volunteers in order to boost support for political candidates and turnout on election day. successfully ran an office and supervised two interns.

From 2013 through 2017, he was a Yacht Detailer at Integrity Detailing. Later, he was chosen to serve as the St. Joseph Republican Party’s vice chairman. Additionally, he won the vote for 2nd District Young Republicans Chair.

He also served as Walorski for Congress’s campaign coordinator from 2015 to 2016. Then he was given the position of campaign manager. He served as the House of Representatives’ district director at the time.

The SUV carrying Walorski was struck by a northbound car that crossed the state road’s centerline, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office. The SUV also claimed the lives of Zachery Potts, 27, a member of the St. Joseph County Republican Party, and Emma Thomson, Walorski’s 28-year-old director of communications.

At State Road 19 and SR 119, close to Nappanee in Elkhart County, two automobiles collided. The Goshen News said that Walorski was driving south in a car with Mishawaka’s Zachery Potts and Emma Thomson.

Furthermore, 56-year-old Edith Schmucker, the driver of the northbound car, was declared dead at the site. The crash is being looked into by the sheriff’s office and the coroner’s office in Elkhart County.

Kevin McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, tweeted a message from Zachery’s office confirming her passing with a “sad heart.”

The news of Zachery’s passing saddened his family. His family has received condolences from a large number of his friends and loved ones.

The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana and current secretary of transportation for the United States, Pete Buttigieg, expressed his sympathies to her family and the other victims of this awful event.

The congressional delegation from Indiana also expressed their condolences on Wednesday. Todd Young, a senator, said I’m totally upset. Jackie fought for Hoosiers her entire life because she loved them. “I won’t ever forget her spirit, her positive outlook, and, most importantly, her friendship.” Indiana laments her passing as well as the unfortunate deaths of her workers Zach Potts and Emma Thomson.

Additionally, Congressman Jim Banks (IN-3) also released a statement. He stated, “Jackie was a selfless, humble, and compassionate public worker. My heart hurts for Dean, the Walorski family, and everyone who knew and loved her.
